Argentina is leading the way in the fight against glyphosate

Researchers in Argentina are leading the way in the fight against glyphosate, based on the country’s horrible experience with the herbicide.  In the 90′s, the Argentine government promoted the production of genetically modified soy.  According to HuffPo, “Several years after the first big harvests residents near where the soy cop grew began reporting health problems, including high rates of birth defects and cancers, as well as the losses of crops and livestock as the herbicide spray drifted across the countryside.” Continue reading

22 People Die in Argentina Plane Crash

Buenos Aires, May 19 (Prensa Latina) At least 22 people were killed when a plane belonging to the Argentine airline Sol Lineas crashed in the Patagonian province of Rio Negro, the media reported Thursday.

The turboprop, en route to Neuquen-Comodoro Rivadavia, crashed covered in flames Wednesday night in a field about 400 km (249 miles) east of Bariloche, and debris was scattered over a large area around the site, the Telam news agency reported. Continue reading
