Blantyre, Aug 20 (Prensa Latina) Malawi President Bingu Wa Mutharika dissolved his cabinet amid a political crisis, without specifying reasons.
In an official statement released Saturday, Mutharika said he will direct the ministerial activities.
The dissolution of the cabinet took place on Friday, after an agreement was signed between government and civil organizations in the context of violent demonstrations on July 20, resulting in nearly two dozen dead and many wounded.
Under the agreement, which includes 20 points, opposition parties demanded that the executive address their economic, political and social concerns.
The need to lower prices of staple commodities, improve the peoples quality of life and better manage public goods are some of the requests.
