Cairo, Aug 15 (Prensa Latina) The trial of former President Hosni Mubarak and his sons, Gamal and Alaa, on charges of corruption, embezzlement, and crimes against humanity, resumes Monday at the police academy in the capital. On Aug. 3, millions of Egyptians and members of the Arab community followed the opening session of the Mubarak trial.
Mubarak was obliged to appear in court locked in a cage, a real public spectacle involving a man who held absolute power for more than 30 years.
Mubarak, 83, was forced to resign after a mass uprising in February, and could be found guilty of the deaths of peaceful demonstrators.
The hearing for former Interior Minister Habib al Adli and six collaborators, accused of ordering government forces to open fire on demonstrators, was postponed until Sept 5.
