Bogota,(Prensa Latina) The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) reaffirmed its political will to take the necessary steps toward an eventual peace process that will end the internal armed conflict. In a message signed by the FARC National Secretariat and addressed to participants in a national peace conference, the guerrilla group maintained its willingness to explore the path to dialogue with the government.
The only condition is to find a way to create an environment for deep-going economic, social and political reforms that ensure peace with social justice, the message said.
The FARC proposes that it be supported in this process by all groups representing the Colombian people and the international community who willing to participate.
The FARC communique was made public at the National Meeting of Peasant, Afro-descendant and Indigenous Communities for Land and Peace, with the slogan “Dialogue is the Route.”
The meeting, which will ends Monday, was being held in Barrancabermeja, Santander, and brought together thousands of peoples from various social and non-governmental organizations, in an effort to pave the way toward peace.
