Hanoi, Aug 8 (Prensa Latina) The governments of Vietnam and Laos ratified on Monday their decision to further strengthen their special relations in order to make them deeper, more effective and practical.
Those were the statements made in an interview with the secretary general of VietnamâÖs Communist Party, Nguyen Phu Trong, and his counterpart of LaosÂ Popular Revolutionary Party Choummaly Sayasone.
Phu Trong said that the fact Choummaly picked Vietnam as the first country to visit after being ratified in his post shows the special nature of relations between both countries.
Trong, who is also Laos President, began his official visit to Vietnam on Monday, aimed at strengthening an alliance that dates from the independence wars, and with an ambitious economic and trade future.
Both leaders demanded the efficient implementation of the cooperation agreements signed for the 2011-2015 period, as well as the collaboration strategy until 2020.
They also agreed on strengthening the exchange of information and theoretical and practical experiences to confront the industrialization and modernization process of Vietnam and Laos.
