Caracas, Aug 8 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of indigenous groups from 18 countries on Monday wil discuss integration, sovereignty, and the restoration of traditions, at the 4th Bolivarian and Indian-American Youth Congress.
The regional forum, which began Sunday at the Hotel Alba Caracas, will be in session until tomorrow, coinciding with the International Day of Indigenous Peoples, established by the United Nations.
At the Central Park Complex, the meeting’s agenda includes issues such as the role of youth in the defense and security of regional native peoples, and their contribution to socialism and the preservation of ancient customs related to living well and respecting the environment.
The congress includes representatives from Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, and the host country, among other nations. rma/as/mv/wmr/ogt
