Havana, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Domestic Trade published a list of new lower prices for farm tools to stimulate production, which is still too low, it was reported Thursday.
The prices took effect on August 1, and aim to increase sales of farm tools, especially for the 150,000 new farmers who have received state land since 2008.
The prices of some items were reduced by almost two-thirds, such as milk buckets, cut from 235 to 85 pesos, Granma newspaper said.
Other items with new lower prices include files, machetes, work overalls and milk strainers.
This decision reaffirms the willingness of the Cuban government to support farmers and increase food production, said Granma.
