North Korea Willing to Resume Talks

Pyongyang, Aug 1 (Prensa Latina) North Korea said it is willing to resume negotiations on the de-nuclearization of the peninsula, the Central News Agency reported.

A government statement said that talks should not have any previous conditions, and should be based on a six-party joint declaration issued on Sept. 19, 2005.

Previously, North Korean Foreign Ministry representative Kim Ge Gwan met in New York with a U.S. government representative in a “constructive environment,” addressing these and other issues, the note said.
