Fidel Castro, Raul Castro Pay Tribute to Cuban Martyrs

Santiago, Cuba, Jul 31 (Prensa Latina) A wreath by the leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, and President Raul Castro was laid at the tomb of martyrs Frank and Josue Pais at the Santa Ifigenia cemetery of this eastern province.

  In this manner, Fidel and Raul paid tribute to the martyrs of the Revolution, when the day of those fallen in the struggle against the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship (1952-1958) was celebrated in Cuba on Saturday.

Thousands of people from Santiago de Cuba marched from Cespedes Park to the cemetery, to commemorate the funeral of Frank Pais and Raul Pujols, killed in the Callejon del Muro, Cuba’s nightly TV news program reported.

At only 22 years old, Pais, the organizer of the November 30, 1956 armed uprising, was the head of the action and sabotage wing of the 26th of July Movement, the main political and military force confronting Batistaâ�Ös tyranny.
