China Sweeps in Diving World Cup

Beijing, Jul 24 (Prensa Latina) China completed its sweep in the diving competitions for the XIV World Championship of water sports, with the triumph of Qiu Bo in the men’s 10m platform.

Bo closed his performances with the score of 585.45, to give his country the tenth title of the event, that took place in the diving tank of the Aquatic Complex of Shanghai, China, with male and female participation.

Silver was won by David Boudia from the United States, with 544.25, and the bronze by German Sascha Klein, with 534.50.

For Latin America the best was Mexican Ivan Garcia, who placed seventh with 493.15, but he had already secured his ticket to London Olympics-2012.

The region only got two bronze medals in this competition, both for ornamental divers from Mexico: Jahel Castillo and Julian Sanchez in the men’s synchronized platform, and Paola Espinosa in the women’s platform.
