Conakry, Jul 19 (Prensa Latina) Guinean President Alpha Conde was unhurt Tuesday after an attack with artillery fire on his residence, which left one dead and three injured, the Guineenews website reported.
Initial investigations by the armed forces found that the attackers were hiding in a building under construction near the president’s villa.
An official said the president was completely unhurt, and Guineenews reported that Conde and the prime minister asked the population to remain calm.
The website reported an attack related to an armed robbery, destroying the entrance to the president’s home and his vehicle, as well as other property damage.
An injured attacker was arrested by the presidential guard, Guineenews reported.
