One Million Images for Hubble Space Telescope

Washington, Jul 14 (Prensa Latina) The Hubble space telescopeâÖs millionth exposure is of the giant planet Kepler 2b, which is 1,000 light years away from the earth, said NASA.

The telescope took photos for two decades of the supernovas, far-away planet systems, explosions, and remote galaxies.

“For 21 years Hubble has been the premier space science observatory, astounding us with deeply beautiful imagery and enabling ground-breaking scientific discoveries across a wide spectrum of astronomical disciplines,” said NASA Administrator Charles Bolden.

To carry out its millionth exposure, Hubble used its camera number 3 of the deep Space, equipped with a spectrometer installed in May 2009 during the fourth mission of maintenance of the space telescope.
