La Paz, Jul 14 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Evo Morales on Thursday highlighted the importance of developing programs to guarantee access to water, in order to fight drought and other natural disasters caused by the irrational industrialization policies of some powerful countries.
In a speech on Thursday during a ceremony for delivering resources in La Paz department, Morales said that Bolivia prefers to invest in the defense of life rather than in the arms industries.
Bolivia allocates part of its budget to install water systems that guarantee better conditions for the population and to supply food.
In this sense, the president said that the government program Mi Agua (My Water) is a response to the natural disasters that are more frequently happening in the world, due to global warming of the planet.
Morales reiterated the importance of implementing programs of collecting water to provide for consumption by the population, irrigation, and cattle rearing.
