Cairo, (Prensa Latina) Thousands of Egyptians demanded Sunday the fulfillment of government promises for the transition, including the replacement of top police authorities of the ousted government of Hosni Mubarak, among other measures.
The protests taking place in this city for two days had its climax on Saturday after the speech of Prime Minister Sharif Esam, in which he ordered the dismissal of police officers demanded by the protesters.
However, the opposition felt that the interim Cabinet did not meet the rigorous demands of popular protests that ousted the former president five months ago.
The dialogue after the defeat of Mubarak between the Sharif-led provisional government proposed the implementation of the requests within six months, at least in the initial stage.
After that time there have been few changes and the population has taken to the streets to denounce the stalemate in the transition process.
