Bolivian Legislature Selects Candidates for Judiciary

La Paz, Jul 10 (Prensa Latina) The Plurinational Legislative Assembly (ALP) in Bolivia will meet next Tuesday to begin the process of selecting 125 candidates for the judiciary, according to parliamentary sources.

Senator Eugenio Rojas, Chairman of the Joint Committee of Constitution, explained that after the conclusion of the interview stage for more than 300 qualified applicants, the Assembly will now select candidates for 56 positions in the judiciary.

On October 16, over five million Bolivians will decide at the polls, in an unprecedented consultation, who will be the judges in the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court and Agro-environmental as well as the Council of the Magistracy.

Rojas said that the legislative committees have done a comprehensive work to pre-select candidates to be confirmed in the plenary before the elections take place.
