Panama, July 9 (Prensa Latina) Panamaian President Ricardo Martinelli will be received by King Juan Carlos of Spain and Queen Sofia in their residence at the “Palacio de la Zarzuela”.
A press release from the offices of the First Lady, Marta Linares, regarding the official visit to Spain from July 11 to 13, says this is the first time that the royal couple receive a delegation of state in the private area of the palace.
Martinelli and his wife fulfill an official invitation from the Spanish government during which Martinelli will hold a working meeting with the Spanish president, Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
The purpose of the trip is to strengthen the bilateral relationship, had declared before the Foreign Minister and Vice President of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela. The delegation will meet also a program of meetings with Spanish businessmen and investors.
Several Hispanic business as Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas company, Sacyr Vallehermoso company, among others, participate in infrastructure plans of current government, as well as the Canal expansion and construction of the Metro.
