Mexico, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) The Institutional revolutionary Party (PRI) managed to win control of Mexico, Nayarit and Coahuila States reported the program of Electoral Preliminary Results (PEPR).
With over half of voters in abstention Eruviel Avila Villegas will be the successor of Enrique Peña Nieto in Mexico state.
Avila obtained 62.43 percent of votes followed by Alejandro Encinas with 21.19 percent and Luis Felipe Bravo Mena with 12.47 percent.
From the 10 millions 555,606 registered in the electoral list over half of them did not vote and 9,416 votes were cast in favour of not registered candidates and 157,919 were declared void.
Citizens participation was far from expectations of the Electoral Institute of Mexico States that invested over 1.6 billions pesos (about 138 millions dollars) in the organization of the vote.
Besides traditional abstentions, raining and cold have considerably influenced the little participation to elections according to the analysis of PEPR.
The official calculation in 45 districts governments will be announced next Wednesday.
