Dominicans Reject U.S. Report on Human Trafficking

Santo Domingo, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) Apart from official rejection of the U.S. human trafficking blacklist, a number of other sectors in the Dominican Republic harshly criticized this arbitrary analysis by Washington.

Dominican Foreign Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso described as “inappropriate” the fact that the United States has set itself up as the judge on this problem, explaining that his country has taken concrete steps to effectively tackle the phenomenon.

The Palermo Protocol, adopted by the United Nations to eradicate human trafficking, was signed by 148 countries, and some 130 countries have passed laws that make human trafficking a crime.
