United Nations, Jul 2 (Prensa Latina) UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, will meet next Wednesday in Madrid with Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Trinidad Jimenez.
Before this meeting Ban Ki-moon will unveil the new Communications and Information Center for the UN Peacekeeping Missions in the Valencian town of Quart de Poblet, said the UN spokesman, Farhan Haq.
According to Haq, Ban Ki-moon will also attend a meeting of the boosters of the Millennium Development Goals on food security and sustainable growth.
After the tour of Spain, Ban will travel on July 7 to Geneva, Switzerland, to chair a meeting between Greek and Turkish Cypriot leaders and submit the 2011 report on the Millennium Development Goals, the UN also announced Friday.
From Geneva, Ban will travel to Juba, where on July 9 he will attend the ceremony of independence of Southern Sudan, and will take the opportunity to talk to the new leader, Salva Kiir Mayardit, and the forces the UN mission in that country.
