Caracas, Jun 26 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela’s Executive Vice President, Elias Jaua, summoned the nation’s youth to march on July 3 in support of the change process initiated by President Hugo Chavez in 1999.
The official said the mobilization will begin at 10:00 am at Madariaga Square and march to Francisco de Miranda Square, in Caracas.
The activity will be the prelude to the bicentennial of the signing of the Venezuelan Act of Independence, to be held on July 5.
“We summon youth to an anti-imperialist and patriotic march” said Jaua in the capital’s Teresa Carreño theater during the launch of Colombeia website.
This site contains Miranda’s historical documents, the Precursor of independence in this Latin American country.
The documents comprise about 32, 000 pages that were scanned and published on the website, http://www.franciscodemiranda.org, to facilitate access for all interested in consulting them.
Miranda, also known as the most universal American, was a prominent Venezuelan general and creator of the idea of Colombia as a nation, which would bring together the territories from the Mississippi River to Tierra del Fuego at the southern tip of the continent.
