Bolivia Fights Drug Trafficking

La Paz, Jun 24 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivian government is stepping up its struggle against drug trafficking with the purchase of six Chinese-made K8 aircraft, which will be assembled in Bolivia.

According to President Evo Morales, those planes will not only be put at the service of the air force, army and navy, but also the whole people, to fight drug trafficking.

During a ceremony on Thursday at an air force installation in Cochabamba, Morales said the country and its leaders are responsible for equipping their armed institutions to ensure national security.

Military sources told Prensa Latina that the K8 aircraft will join the old fleet of T33 aircraft that were refurbished and will be used principally in the anti-drug fight.
