Madrid, Jun 21 (Prensa Latina) The 15-M Movement on Monday urged the Spanish political class to listen to the demands of the people, expressed for more than 30 days of peaceful protests.
There is a complete lack of response from the authorities to the people’s demands, said Jon Aguirre, spokesman of Democracia Real Ya (Real Democracy Now), part of the 15-M Movement.
It would be a matter of great concern if politicians do not react to the mass protests held nationwide yesterday on Sunday against the budget cuts implemented by European governments to appease the financial markets, he warned.
If they can sleep peacefully after the events registered yesterday and this whole month, it means a real problem exists, Aguirre told Spanish television.
The politicians must listen to the people, and put a stop to the Euro Pact he insisted.
Sunday’s protests were focused on the Euro Pact, which was approved in March and stipulates severe cuts in public spending to reduce national deficits.
