Caracas, AVN .- Venezuela and Cuba endorsed 100 contracts to carry out 116 projects on education, health, sports, culture, food, construction, transport, communications and information, energy and to strengthen social programs.
The signing of the agreements was held this Saturday in the framework of the Ninth Session of the Intergovernmental Committee Cuba-Venezuela, which finished today in La Havana, Cuba.
The most relevant projects are aimed at achieving the following goals: keep rendering health services through the programs Mision Barrio Adentro I and II; continue with the supplying of medicines, vaccines and medical equipments so as to strengthen and continue developing the health system; continue improving the Bolivarian education granting technical and methodological assistance and providing the material with educative content in all its forms; and contribute with Venezuela”s sports development by providing technical assistance .
In addition, continue with the roots-culture program Mision Cultura Corazon Adentro; contribute with agrifood sovereignty through the implementation of development programs on agriculture, livestock and fishing industries, with the creation of new capacities to increase the production and the productive efficiency; promote the development of the informatics and communications at a major scale through the supply of equipments and software; and support Venezuela”s electric generation recovery process.
During the closing ceremony, five contracts were signed by the Venezuelans Science, Technology and Intermediate Industries minister Ricardo Menendez; Agriculture and Lands Juan Carlos Loyo and Basic Industries and Mining Jose Khan.
The agreements signed in this act were contracts to strengthen productive facilities for the generation and large-scale use of hydrogel membranes for biomedical use; designing of an Agricultural Biotechnology Doctorate; strengthening of socialist production, supply and distribution integral systems for poultry and fish products in seven states of Venezuela;developing the program Mision Campo Adentro, in favor of agrifood sovereignty; and the construction of a zone saline refining plant.
