Bolivian Gov’t, Unions Resume Talks

La Paz, Jun 13 (Prensa Latina) Leaders of the Bolivian Workers Federation (COB) and representatives of the Labor Ministry will hold new talks Monday on union demands.

The COB will cooperate with a call by newly-appointed Labor Minister Daniel Santalla to work together on the content of a new general labor law, said COB leader Ramiro Condori.

The meeting also will discuss the eight points contained in an agreement reached in April, including the need to foster productive projects and annul the neoliberal Decree 21060 of 1985, Condori said.

In April, the COB held nationwide protests asking for wage increases that the government considered unviable.
