Tripoli, Jun 7 (Prensa Latina) Libya”s Muammar Gaddafi ruled out leaving Libya and promised to continue confronting the aggression of NATO to the death, in a speech that blamed the West for causing chaos in his country.
“We have just one choice: we will stay in our land alive or dead” said Gaddafi in a statement on Libyan state television, an opportunity that he used to salute his 69 birthday on Tuesday.
The North African statesman encouraged his followers to resist the Western crusade and go to his residence in Bab Al-Aziziyah, whose surroundings were bombed several times by planes of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
The veteran Arab-African leader swore that he would never relent in defending his nation. “We will not surrender, we welcome death, we are not afraid, martyrdom is a million times better”, he repeated several times to predict the Libyan peopleâÖs triumph.
Gaddafi’s words followed a day of particularly intense air attacks against military centers, government offices, and headquarters of the People’s Revolutionary Guard close to the Bab Al-Aziziyah complex in central Trip
