Peru: Last Day of Election Campaign Rallies

Lima, (Prensa Latina) Peruvian presidential candidates Ollanta Humala and Keiko Fujimori are wrapping up their campaigns with rallies in the capital Thursday, the last day for such activities before the election runoff on Sunday.

The candidates may still distribute publicity materials on Friday, but they will hold their final rallies today, and they will be broadcast on state television. Humala closed his campaign outside the capital on Wednesday will rallies in the cities of Tarapoto and Cusco.

In Fujimoriâ�Ös case, her visits to the provinces were met with demonstrations of opposition, including on Wednesday in the northern city of Trujillo, where her supporters clashed with those supporting Humalaâ�Ös Gana Peru coalition.
