Sarkozy Accused of Crimes against Humanity in Libya

Paris, (Prensa Latina) Two famous French lawyers want to bring President Nicolas Sarkozy to court for crimes against humanity in Libya, according to news reports.

A representative of the Libyan justice system in Tripoli said lawyers Roland Dumas and Jacques Verges said they were willing to sue Sarkozy on behalf of the victims of NATO bombings, it was reported.

Dumas, a former socialist foreign minister, was quoted as saying he was astonished when he realized that the mission of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) aimed at protecting civilians was actually killing them.

The lawyer also denounced the brutal aggression against a sovereign country and added that he was ready to defend Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi if he were to be tried by an International Penal Court.
