Important Distinction to Cuban Neuro Physiologist

Havana, May 23 (Prensa Latina) Cuban neuro physiologist Calixto Machado Curbelo was awarded the Statuette with Pedestal, the highest decoration granted by the International Academy for Child Brain Development.

The distinction was given to him for the many years of dedication and hard work, and for the important contributions that Machado Curbelo has made to humanity, according to the document crediting the prize to the eminent Cuban scientist.

For more than three decades, Doctor Machado has been a precursor in the field of neurology and clinical neuro physiology. He has investigated, written and taught without rest, to improve the understanding of human conscience at world level, the document adds.

“Where there was dimness, he has taken the light of understanding. Where there was mystery, he has provided answers that will improve the human condition significantly,” the text declaress.

“When giving him the Statuette, we declare him a symbol of our Academy, where we defend the idea that all men and women have something to contribute to the life of others,” adds the report.

Doctor Machado Curbelo is a Doctor in Sciences, Investigator of Merit, a Second Degree specialist in Neurology and Clinic Neuro Physiology and president of the Cuban Society of Clinical Neuro Physiology. At the moment he works in the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery of Cuba.

Author of countless articles and several books, he has also been gratified with important distinctions, such as the 2005 Annual McHenry Award, of the American Academy of Neurology.
