U.S. Convoy Attacks in Northwest Pakistan

Islamabad, May 20 (Prensa Latina) A car bomb exploded on Friday when two U.S. diplomatic cars were passing through Peshawar, northeast of Pakistan, killing two people, and none of victims were from the American diplomatic staff.

According to police sources cited by a local television, the attack took place in one of the main avenues of that city in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing two passers-by and wounding 10.

The diplomatic cars went to the consulate when the car bomb, parked in one side of the road, exploded.

According to the local press, the Friday attack against the diplomatic convoy was demanded by the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which some days ago promised to avenge the death of Osama Bin Laden, leader of the Al Qaeda network, in the hands of a U.S. command on May 2 in the city of Abbottabad.
