Havana, May 20 (Prensa Latina) The expo Saldivar, Light in Spanish Cinema, and the Thriller Buried (Enterrado) opened the Festival of Spanish Cinema of the New Millennium, organized by Cuba’s Arts and Film Industry and the Spanish Embassy.
Director Rodrigo Cortes, featuring Ryan Reynolds, tells the story of a buried US smuggler buried face down in the coffin who just relies on his mobile phone to survive.
Known as the Shaman of light, Mexican photographer Cesar Saldivar displays at the Chaplin Theater main floor several pictures of nude and dancing Spanish actors and actresses.
At the Cinemateca de Cuba opening, Spanish Cultural Attache Ramon Molina said the event this year will run 11 films in 26 shows in Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba, Holguin, Camagüey, Cienfuegos, Pinar del Rio, Sancti Spiritus and Isle of Youth special municipality.
The Festival, in his view, will be the largest display ever in Cuba and the finest opportunity to introduce the latest productions to Cuban fans -always fund of Spaniard culture.
With winners of the Goya 2009 and 2010, the event has expanded in every direction compered to previous years, said Antonio Mazon, planner of the Cinemateca de Cuba, told AIN news agency that four films honor Actor Jose Luis Lopez.
