Havana, May 18 (Prensa Latina) The Havana offices of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA) will host a celebration of the close of the Argentine Independence Bicentennial.
The agenda includes a performance by the prestigious Argentinian choir Opus Cuatro and the Cuban choir Entre Voces, conducted by Digna Guerra, as well as a performance by the Cuban dance group Neotango.
A visual arts exhibition, Una Patria de diez plazas, will depict Argentine history though 10 gigantic caricatures. It was previously shown in February at Cubaâ�Ös International Book Fair.
The cultural affairs attache at the Argentine Embassy, Javier Figueroa, said that in the new Latin American context “all our countries have a common political, economic and cultural line. Thes initiatives are necessary,” he said.
Argentine-Cuban guitar player Victor Pellegrini will give a concert on May 24 and announced he would play works by Leo Brouwer, Astor Pizzolla and others.
“We have to maintain the ideal of unity among Latin American countries. That’s why I am offering this concert, this review of Latin American guitar music,” said Pellegrini, who has been living in Cuba for several years.
