Havana, May 17 (Prensa Latina) The Fifth Latin American Congress on Biomedical Engineering opens Tuesday in this capital, with an agenda focusing on exchanging experiences in procedures, techniques and tools to increase value added and effectiveness of those technologies. Conferences and roundtables on issues such as bioelectromagnetics, bioinformatics, health technologies assessment, medical-hospital technologies, medical images and clinical engineering are included the eventâ�Ös scientific program.
Also on the list are electro medicine and instrumentation for monitoring and diagnosing, artificial intelligence and neural networks, research and technological innovation, nanotechnologies, optics and laser, radiobiology and radiotherapy, robotics, telemedicine and home care.
Experts of those and other related specialties from Spain, Brazil, Singapore, the United States, Portugal, Croatia and Cuba are attending the meeting, sponsored by the Regional Council of Biomedical Engineering for Latin America, and the Pan-American and World Health Organizations.
An exhibition of medical equipment, software, registration of biomedical technologies, universities and academic institutions, development and production of medicines, among others, are being held in parallel with this event.
