Moscow, May 12 (Prensa Latina) Russian president Dmitry Medvedev meets with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardani on Thursday to discuss economic/trade cooperation, antiterrorism and regional security, as part of an official four-day visit to Moscow by Zardani. Coordinated efforts to maintain peace and stability in Central Asia and the fight against drug trafficking and organized crime are also included in the meeting, the fifth between the two presidents since 2009.
The official talks are expected to end with the signing of a joint statement, and an intergovernmental treaty on air communications, said the Kremlinâ�Ös news service.
The two sides were also expected to sign letters of intends on energy and agriculture.
The joint statement refers to the possibility of deepening trade cooperation, while Islamabad thanked Russia for the humanitarian aid it provided following the 2010 floods in Pakistan.
Trade between the two countries is less than the 615.6 billion USD it reached in 2008, totalling 362.7 billion USD in 2010.
