Caracas, May 12 (Prensa Latina) Most Venezuelans approve of President Hugo Chavez´s job performance and the policies of social inclusion promoted by his government, Jesse Chacon, director of the pollster GIS XIX, said Thursday.
According to the latest survey by GIS XIX, the president has a 52 percent approval rating, Chacon told Venezolana de Television.
The survey was conducted in late April and showed a rise in Chavez´s popularity compared to a March poll, when his approval rating was 51 percent, Chacon said.
The latest survey also showed that 46 percent of Venezuelans would vote for Chavez in the 2012 elections, an increase over the previous poll (42 percent).
Twenty-one percent of those surveyed said they would elect an opposition candidate, yet to be defined, in the coming elections, a two percent drop from the last poll, Chacon added.
