Washington, Mar 10 (Prensa Latina) The U.S. government recognized a record of immigrants deportation through the Safe Communities program, which is criticized by advocates of minority groups.
AOL News said the Internal Security secretary, Janet Napolitano, attributed to that program the deportation of 190, 000 immigrants in a hearing at the Senate.
Rights advocacy groups for immigrants argue that many people with minor offenses are carried by that program and alert about injustices for errors in federal databases.
Supported by data from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, from October 2008 to November 2010, the Center showed that many of the deportees did not commit crimes.
Many experts say that Safe Communities encourages racial discrimination, as the police with migration powers stops people just because for their race or ethnicity.
